Roberto Mata (Valencia, Venezuela, 1967) is a self-taught photographer. His professional career begins in the eighties at a newspaper called El Nacional. In 1993 he opens a photography school, named after him, where more than eight thousand students have learned photography

Aside from teaching, Roberto is a comercial and editorial photographer who has done work for several magazines and has a body of work that has won several awards, such as the second prize in the Christian Dior Bienal (1995), The Sebastian
