The RuhrBühnen invite you to discover a world of theatre, dance, music, performance, language, sound and play – from the most varied of artistic perspectives and across multiple cities. At the same time, each theatre firmly represents its own artistic profile, meaning that, when these work together, they provide spectators with an incredibly diverse theatrical spectrum.
In the Ruhr area, theatre is closely linked to the region’s industrial history, being a tradition which dates back more than 100 years. The individual theatres are deeply rooted within their respective cities and, today, make an active contribution towards the Metropolis Ruhr’s image of itself as a living, breathing region for culture – in close consultation with their audience, of course.
