I recently graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with an MS in Robotics. My research as a member of the Soft Machines Lab focused on unique solutions to robot grasping and dexterity. Specifically, the robotic end effectors I’ve developed take advantage of non-traditional materials – such as silicones, foams, and stiffness tuning thermoplastics – in order to grasp and manipulate objects more effectively.
Prior to starting at Carnegie Mellon, I studied mechanical engineering at Lafayette College. My senior honors thesis at Lafayette involved the design and testing of a biomimetic robot fish, receiving Lafayette’s Mechanical Engineering Design Award .
Outside of the lab, I enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, whether it’s rowing, skiing, hiking, or biking. I rowed for four years at Lafayette college, where I served three semesters as the men’s team captain and won medals at several prestigious regattas.
