Description: Think. Create. Teach.
Today marks three weeks since I was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy. I’m recovering very well. I have around eighty to ninety percent of motion back on the left side of my face. I no longer sputter “f” sounds. Most importantly, I can whistle again. I can’t hit the highest notes yet, but at least I can whistle at my wife in the mornings again. I have a follow-up appointment with a neurologist on Thursday. I’m so confident that I’ll make a full recovery that I’m tempted to cancel it. (I won’t.)
An unexpected but welcome side effect of this experience has been the energy boost I got from the prednisone treatment. Last time I had to take a course of the stuff, the doctor told me, “If you have any projects you’ve been meaning to start, this is the time.” He was right and I knew what to expect this time. I’ve been getting a lot done.
Also, eating everything in sight. I think I’ve gained about five pounds.
