Shasti O’Leary Soudant is a multidisciplinary artist, sculptor, designer and writer whose colorful public art is inspired by philosophy, ideology, and scientific and/or mathematical concepts. This work is developed in collaboration with community, designed to invite engagement and interaction, and involves hidden systems, power dynamics, human relationships, balance and hegemony.
Shasti’s work is in the collections of the Buffalo AKG Museum (formerly The Albright-Knox Art Gallery) , The Rockwell Museum (A Smithsonian Affiliate) , the Burchfield Penney Art Center , Savarino Companies’ 500 Seneca project, The Albright-Knox Public Art Initiative in partnership with the NFTA, the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center , the City of Jacksonville , Florida, the Arts Council of Midland, Texas , and the City of Erie , Pennsylvania, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
She is currently at work on a city-wide Augmented Reality sculpture public art exhibition for The Rockwell Museum in Corning, NY, that will open in July of 2023 and teaches at the University at Buffalo.
