RELAY–DELAY began as a project for Art in Odd Places Festival 2021 in New York City, which prompted artists to investigate the idea of normalcy during the pandemic. Their call for artists presented a quote from Sonya Renee Taylor stating, “We will not go back to normal. Normal never was.” During this time of quarantine and social political unrest, we existed between survival and an uncertain tomorrow. People and the environment suffered many tangible losses in 2020.
