People look at the fast moving pace of camera technology, but as Scotty from Star Trek says, "You canna' change the laws of physics," and he's exactly right. The behaviour of light hasn't changed since the year dot, so neither has photography.
Once you spend the time to learn about photography itself, you gain knowledge you can take from camera to camera, just like riding a bike. Even a little time and practice can make a large difference to your photos. So dig in!
Just as there is more than one way to skin a cat, there is more than one way to take pictures. This site is passing on what I have learned and found useful. Other people may teach differently. You've got nothing to loose by trying out other peoples tips and techniques, adopting anything you find useful, in to your own photography.
