In 1998, Matt Downer began conducting informal recording and interview sessions with the elder musicians of the Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia tri-state area. In July of 2011, the first set of these field recordings will be released - Slowtime Field Recordings - Volume 1 - Alabama.
