Description: The model railway musings of Simon Moppett
Recent Hornby catalogue covers have featured a specially commissioned painting. These have shown a locomotive that Hornby are releasing during the year.
This year is special, however, as it is 100 years since Frank Hornby released his first model train for sale. During the year Hornby will release re-tooled models of Stephenson’s Rocket and the BR APT-P (as well as other milestone models) and the catalogue cover features both.
I couldn’t find who painted the cover, and the reason turns out that it was created by the team who put the catalogue together. They have done a very good job.
