Static-Subs started at the end of 2003, with the release of the first episode of Konjiki no Gash Bell!! . The last release was at the end of 2012, with the second episode of Moyashimon Returns . During the time in-between, staff came and went, many great joint ventures with other fansub groups were made, and digital video became very popular, and legal streaming services gained an audience and reduced the need for fansub groups.
While it is sad to say goodbye, it's very clear that the time of Static-Subs is in the past. All the members of this group put their heart into their work, and kept true to the motto of the group: “for the love of it”.
For our fans, we are listing the series we worked on and the license status in the US so that they can purchase or stream those titles if they wish.
