My paintings reflect wanderings through landscapes, both natural and supernatural, through outer and inner worlds. Walks through my native West of England, with its rich layers of history and culture, geology and ecology. The wider Celtic western fringe of Europe, steeped in myths and legends. And the landscape of my imagination.
As humans we occupy a place in an interconnected ecological system that we are capable of lovingly embracing and wantonly spoiling – I am both curious and deeply bothered by this cognitive dissonance. I find our ability to destroy the space we hold so dear quite chilling.
