When we originally decided that we needed a place to escape to in 2005, my husband, son and myself took a trip to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to find the perfect location to build our new home. We wanted a place that we could find peace and solitude. A place to share with family and friends. We found all this and more in Golden Valley, North Carolina in the South Mountains of the Blue Ridge Province.
The minute we stepped onto our land, and saw that incredible view, we all said… let's do this!! We had always dreamt of it, and now it was actually going to happen! The journey started and took 8 years to complete, although it was a home from the first day. Each step was a character-building experience, it took heart, soul, lots of sweat. The experience strengthened us as a family and showed us how strong our hearts were.
Our beautiful cabin is located in The Summit, a gated community on Biggerstaff Mountain. We are surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors. There is an abundance of outdoor adventure, hiking, mountain biking, and several lakes within a short drive. We are also located a short drive to Chimney Rock State Park an incredible place to spend a day. Although we don't often go, Asheville is just an hour away for anything you might not find locally.
