The trainer at puppy class gave me some tips about the night time crating problem.
She said I should cover the crate with a towel (he clearly gets over stimulated), let him bark for 7 minutes. If that didn’t work, come back out. (Can’t remember if she told me to take him out of the crate or not. But did say to make sure he isn’t crying about wanting food, water or to go to the bathroom.) Then try again. Sit there and give him lots of treats over the course of the next 20 minutes. And make sure to give him LOTS of bones, chew toys stuffed with food.
