I am a linguist and the assistant director of ILETC (Institute for Language Education in Transcultural Context) at the CUNY Graduate Center, and a learning experience designer at the Library and at CETLS (Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship) at CUNY BMCC’ s OpenLab . I earned my PhD in linguistics at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 2018, and I graduated summa cum laude from SUNY New Paltz with a BA in French, where I was honored with a 40 under Forty alumni
I am also a contributing author for Grammar Girl , and I freelance as a linguist and academic copy editor .
From 2016-2018, I completed a two-year position as program coordinator for the NSF-funded REU site Intersection of Linguistics, Language, and Culture . Previously, I served as a visiting professor of linguistics at Brooklyn College, and before that, I was a WordPress support/digital pedagogy fellow for the OpenLab (a WordPress/BuddyPress site) at the New York City College of Technology.
