About Autologous Cell Therapy
Syngenit ™ provides patients with a choice of injection-based or surgical treatment for cartilage damage. Syngenit uses Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) as a source of concentrated stem cells, which is derived from patient aspirated bone marrow during a single procedure.
For patient comfort, the aspiration is normally performed under a General Anaesthetic (GA), although your clinician may offer a local anaesthetic if the treatment is for an injection-based procedure. Bone marrow aspiration is typically from the pelvis or sometimes the tibia (shin bone). Aspiration normally takes only few minutes to complete and is typically performed through a single point. Depending on the procedure, the total clinical time is typically between 30 to 60 minutes.
