Description: Temple Basin is one of the oldest club-run ski areas in NZ, and home to the NZ Snow Safety Institute offering courses for riders, hikers, and mountaineers in premier alpine terrain. There are 120 beds in bunkhouse-style accommodation available.
Temple Basin is one of the oldest club run ski areas in New Zealand, formed in 1929. From the lifts the surrounding peaks can be easily accessed, so the field has become renowned as the home of extreme skiing and snowboarding in New Zealand. Located on the Main Divide of the Southern Alps, Temple is also home to the New Zealand Snow Safety Institute offering courses for riders, hikers and mountaineers in premier alpine terrain.
