BritChat was founded in 2005 by Jonathan Lecun, an English teacher from the UK. Jonathan started classroom teaching in 1995 but had always been very interested in two things: technology and the human voice .
Over the next 20 years, Jonathan developed a person-centred teaching system . In this approach, the teacher communicates with the learner as a real person at all times. This makes learning more interesting because learners use language in a completely natural way. They feel language is a tool they can control to interact with real people.
The teachers who work for BritChat are British and the lessons are about communication . That is at the centre of all the learning. Students learn because they are communicating with their teachers at all times in lessons.
