The primary focus of this website is genealogy, or family history, specifically Thurtell and related families. I have been very interested in family history since about 1963, when I was about 14 years old and reading the story "Markheim" by Robert Louis Stevenson in English class. My maiden name was Susan Persia Thurtell. I had always been told that anyone with the last name Thurtell was related - somehow. That story mentions famous crimes - "Brownrigg with her apprentice, the Mannings with their murder

I just moved this website to a new webhost, MochaHost, on February 16, 2020. Most of the coding is out of date, but it still works. I have continued researching genealogy on these families but have not kept up at all with adding it to the website.
