No new album this time but the True Loves swung through Portland again for a small tour on the west coast. Jimmy was a tease all night long. At the end of the set the horn section did a parade through the floor which was cool. Solid night of funk and soul.
It was a long journey finding Ural Thomas playing at The Goodfood. When I was checking out the calendar for The Goodfoot Ural Thomas jumped out at me. The name was familiar but not sure where from. Then I remembered his song Pain is the Name of Your Game appears on the amazing compilation album from Cairo Records, The Truth Is A Lie: American Soul Music 1955-1972. Got my ticket and was exited to see him perform.
