The Tuckahoe Artists Association was founded and held its first meeting on Tuesday, April 20, 1971. Originally, membership was drawn from the Tuckahoe Woman’s Club located in the west end of Richmond, Virginia. Currently the organization has approximately 60 members including active, associate and honorary members. Membership is drawn from diverse sources in the metropolitan area and consists of established professional artists as well as aspiring new artists.

The purpose of the 501(c) tax exempt association is to stimulate interest in the fine arts. In order to achieve its purposes, the association has regular meetings on the third Tuesdays of September, October, January and February at the Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church, 7000 Park Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Guest artists make presentations regarding their work and special techniques or give demonstrations, lessons or critiques of members’ works.
