The Florida UAS Working Group is a multi-disciplinary organization consisting of State of Florida agencies, county/local agencies, academic institutions and private sector partners that have established or embraced the use of unmanned aircraft systems in public safety and emergency management.
The Catastrophic UAS Remote Sensing Exercise 2023 is a two-day Full Scale Exercise in and around Leon County, Florida. Developed and hosted by the FLUASWG and FEMA Region 4, the exercise will focus on response and recovery missions post-hurricane, with emphasis on data collection, analysis and dissemination. All member organizations as well as agencies and organizations from around FEMA Region 4 and the Federal enterprise are invited to participate.
Membership in the working group is open to anyone interested in developing unmanned systems capability in Florida, specifically to respond to emergencies and disasters. Participation is free, and provides networking and information on developing UAS capacity in public safety and emergency management.
