Description: It all started back in September 1949 when the Volkmann Bros, decided to invest their two-weeks vacation in erecting a small greenhouse for the purpose of growing plants during their spare time. It proved to be a wise move. Four years later, in 1953, a commercial size greenhouse replaced the original structure. Finally, the Volkmann Bros, operation filled three commercial size greenhouses to satisfy the demand coming from all of the 50 states.
