Viswakarma Service Society (VSS) is a social organisation working for the unity and welfare of Viswakarma Community in the state of Kerala. It was registered in the year 1968 as registration number K 15 as per the Charitable Societies Act and has organisational setup at State, District and Taluk levels with Sakhas at the base. VSS has close to 1500 registered Sakhas spread all over the state with a total membership strength
Lord Viswakarma is the personified Omnipotence and the abstract form of the creator God according to the Rig Veda. He is the presiding deity of all craftsmen & architects. He is believed to be the "Principal Architect of the Universe", and the root concept of the later Upanishadic Brahman. In rig-veda he is described as Swayambhu.
