Watton Wheelers is a friendly social cycling club, based in the Hertfordshire village of Watton at Stone but with members from all over the County and further afield. We specialise in the leisure side of cycling catering for all ages and abilities including road and mountain bike rides. Our club runs include year round rides on Wednesday and Sunday Mornings and Thursday evening off road rides during the summer months. Our rides are usually 3-4 hours duration with occasional day rides and weekends away.
Club runs are normally at the slowest riders pace but occasionally dependant on the number of riders, the rides are split to cater for both slow and fast riders. The majority of our rides have a refreshment stop. Our members take part in Sportives and Audax road rides on a regular basis including The Tour of Cambridge and L’Eroica Brittania classic bike event. Mountain bike rides include rides on local trails and also further afield to trail centres in Wales and Europe.
We organise regular social events with a Summer fancy dress BBQ and a Club dinner at Christmas. Recent events have included a curry night in Hertford and white water rafting at Lea Valley.
