I shot this rusted out 1948 Pontiac Silver Streak in Southern Utah while out on the hunt for old automobiles. I love the rusted out “Beef State” license plate, which would put this vehicle last being driven in Nebraska, around 1960. I shot this on my new medium format Hasselblad X1D. It’s tack sharp and really neat to enjoy printed really large; all the textures and patterns make this print really pop!
The light, at the time of the shot, was high and flat. But I was able to preserve the shadows and get an amazingly almost 3-D result by using multiple exposures and post processing in Photomatix Pro, with a little help after in Exposure X5.
