Wild Places Rescue helps horses, goats, donkeys, dogs, cats, and chickens that have been abused, neglected, injured, abandoned, or feral. Wild Places also assists in the rescue of auction-animals who are at risk of being shipped for slaughter; these animals are rehabilitated and/or quarantined if necessary, and then placed in loving homes. We are also working with a veterinarian in Central Mexico to establish a community program for street dogs who need medical care and loving homes. When feasible, we also
Wild Places began as a small horse sanctuary in Colorado in 2012, then expanded to include goats, dogs, cats, donkeys, and chickens, and to operate in multiple states. Wild Places specializes in "special needs" animals, and has rescued animals dealing with all sorts of issues: blindness, deafness, chronic diseases, chronic spinal injuries, severe arthritis, genetic/developmental defects, thyroid disorders, and extreme old age.
