Home After Renoir: Baigneuse I recently acquired this Renoir lithograph at an estate. The plate impression is visible on the paper, so I am less concerned about the image being a reproduction using modern techniques, rather than there is no signature on the item.
I believe that it is worth some investigation since a similar image just came up at auction for $2,000 with Affordable Art . However, the website attributes the image to an art critic, Theodore Duret, in 1910. So, this image, if it falls under my research, would be considered an “After” Renoir, meaning produced after the artist by a later party.
The object still would hold some value with its history, and it would be interesting to do further research into the relationship between Renoir and Duret.
