Winterstudio/Hansplassen is a two year studio project. In addition to the artists Elida Brenna Linge and Andreas Siqueland, who run the programme, they have invited ten artists working within different mediums and traditions to take part in a project that questions the meaning of geographical place in artistic production. The idea behind the project is to look closer at how an art work is related to the place (the studio/location/landscape) where it is created.
THE INVITED ARTISTS ARE:
Winterstudio was built in 2011 as a part of Andreas Siqueland's research project, A Place for Painting, within the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme. The construction of the mobile outdoor studio is based on the inside measurements of his studio; room 611 in Handelsbygningen in Oslo. The Art Academy in Oslo originally had ten studios in Handelsbygningen in Drammensveien 20, now Henrik Ibsens gate in Oslo.
