The Wye River Surf Life Saving Club (WRSLSC) was founded by an enthusiastic group of campers and surfers on 1 January 1958. Thus began a long and proud history of lifesaving at Wye River. Having grown from a small handful of men with a passion for the beach and the town, centred around a basic weatherboard shed the club now has over 400 members and an iconic building snuggled in the dunes.
WRSLSC prides itself on its egalitarian and inclusive culture and also its collaboration with and outreach to the local community and its important partnership with Colac College. The Club has been an important training ground for future leaders in the community and has alumni scattered far and wide. It is a core part of the emergency service infrastructure in Wye River and is always keen to accept new members.
Memberships for 2019/2020 opened on 1 October 2019. Please click on the Get Involved tab for further instructions about the joining and renewal processes.
