Description: The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Abroad (YES Abroad) Program provides scholarships for secondary school students from the United States to study in select countries up to one academic year.

U.S.-citizen high school students and recent graduates (age 15-18.5) live and study for an academic year in select countries with significant Muslim populations through competitive, merit-based scholarships from the U.S. Department of State’s Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Abroad program.
The 2023-2024 program is no longer accepting new applicants. Register here to be notified when the 2024-2025 application becomes available.
Living with a host family and attending a local school, YES Abroad students promote mutual understanding between the United States and the host country by forming lasting relationships with the local community. Learn more about the YES Abroad program.
