Description: The YWCA Northcentral PA focuses on eliminating homelessness and creating better lives for those who have experienced abuse.
The YWCA Northcentral PA is a member of a nationally recognized movement with a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
For more than 160 years, YWCAs have positioned themselves at the forefront of the most pressing social movements. They have advocated for voting rights, civil rights, and violence protection; fought for affordable housing and pay equity, and championed health care reform. Today, YWCAs combine services and advocacy to foster change in three key areas: racial justice, economic advancement and empowerment for women and girls, and health and safety for women and girls.
Locally, the YWCA Northcentral PA began shaping the future for women and children in the late 1800s, creating a safe place for young working women to live and gather. Today, the YWCA Northcentral PA supports our community by providing permanent supportive housing as well as comprehensive and life-saving services for women, children, and men. We pride ourselves on our focus to ensure each program offered is designed to empower the individuals that we serve as they take steps towards their new paths.
