"Epker considers his life as one large landscape. In this landscape he follows traces, just as a predator follows the scent of game. The game in this case is a selection from the collection of images and thoughts that enter his life through all kinds of media. With this 'chosen game' he starts working. For example an advertisement, a prayer card, an erotic picture, an image of a work of art, infused with his own experiences, can produce a new image. These images are often unsettling. "Epker ziet zijn leven als één groot landschap. In dat landschap volgt hij sporen, zoals een roofdier de geur van het wild volgt. Het wild is in dit geval een selectie uit de verzameling beelden en gedachten die via allerlei media zijn leven binnendringen. Met het gekozen ‘wild’ gaat hij aan de slag. Zo kan een reclamebeeld, een bidprentje een pornoplaatje, een afbeelding van een kunstwerk en zijn eigen ervaringen een nieuw beeld opleveren. Deze beelden zijn vaak onthutsend.
