I primarily use, as a computer operating system, Linux Mint Mate (see https://www.linuxmint.com/ ), and I have also used Ubuntu Mate Linux and Debian Linux, and, computers with multiple operating systems. Linux is a free operating system, and it has alot of good free applications and utitilities software available, for most uses, and is fairly reliable and easy (enough for me) to use.
I have used, Skype, for video calls, including international calls, and I believe that it was an underused, wonderful, method of communication. Skype appears to have been superseded by Zoom, which, whilst I have it also installed, I have yet to start using.
